I live in Billings, and spend alot of time in the park. It never ceases to amaze me how ridiculous people are. If I see those horns sticking out of the river, I’m thinking to myself, “Hmmm, this animal that lives in the woods thought it was safe to walk out here, and is now dead. So, now – a human from the suburbs of will make this same trip out on the ice to snap a stupid photo.”

yea some people are idiots and decide to walk where animals have died.

I think it is a very fascinating photo – is someone jealous that they did not see it first?!

I think vypr is just pointing out the very real idea that the ice wasn’t thick enough to support the weight of an animal. That said, since it is frozen it could have been there for quite some time allowing the ice to get even thicker. Not to mention a human female weighs a lot less than a Bull Elk. Nonetheless.
