Check out this video of a doe that protects her fawn from some local pets. Interesting to see the house cat try to mark the fawn with scent. Mama doe doesn’t take to kindly to it. The dog receives a nice butt whipping Sends the cat running, too.

This video was taken in Cranbrook BC in June of 2010. The person who did the filming did not want to intervene in the situation, becuase he did not want to miss a good video opportunity. (despite the fact the dog was his own)
Hey Craig,
Thanks for the back story.
Hey Admin
No worries!
This is nature. While I certainly feel bad for the dog I understand why the doe took action. The fawns natural response was to drop to the ground and keep a low profile. Like they do in the wild when threatened by predators. Both the fawn and the doe obviously perceived the dog to be a coyote. Which is a real danger for fawns in the wild. Completely natural reaction from a good mama. Nature can be brutal.
